Anees Sous came to the United States from Palestine in 1982. He was a young man with big dreams, arriving in the United States to attend college and build a better life for himself and his family. Since then, he has spent 27 years doing what millions of immigrants have done, working hard to build and better this nation.

Anees and his wife have raised their family in a small town in Michigan, where they have lived for more than twenty years. They have six US Citizen children. Their two oldest daughters attended the University of Michigan and are continuing into graduate school. Their younger children, the youngest of whom is seven, also have learned the values of hard work and commitment to community from their parents.

Anees owned and operating his own trucking business for seven years, providing jobs, paying taxes and helping to boost the Detroit economy. Anees has never committed a crime and is a loyal and dedicated member of his community, as well as a beloved father.

However, Anees is to be deported from the United States, separated from his wife and children. Anees’ eldest daughter will be 21 years old and able to petition her father this July. His wife will be able to adjust her own immigration status this September, when a petition that has been pending since 1996 will finally be completed. And yet, the Department of Homeland Security believes that it is necessary to forcefully remove Anees from the United States now.

We the undersigned urge you to prevent this terrible injustice from occurring by halting the deportation of Anees Sous NOW. We believe in the value of family and family unity, as well as the right of every child to grow up in a loving and stable home. It would be a true tragedy to see Anees taken from his family and his children forced to grow up without their father, especially after all that he has given to this country in his 27 years here.

I am urging others to sign on; this is very immoral and legally nonsense. I wish the best for this family and keep them in my prayers.
